Puppy Love Mini Album

Tuesday, April 13, 2010
Hey everyone! Sorry I've been so MIA recently. There has been a ton of things going on in school and life outside of school. I guess they don't want you to have a life outside of school. Anyway, here is a mini a made a little while ago for the Trade Wind Scrappers and Keeping It Scrappy March Swap. I feel horrible because they have been done for a while, I just haven't been able to get to the post office to get them in the mail. I promise they will be sent out before the end of the week. Hope you enjoy the video!

Valentine Tag Book

Sunday, February 14, 2010
I was over at Studio Calico and saw this adorable tutorial for the Valentine's tag mini album.  I decided instead of making a card for my boyfriend, I would make a cute little tag mini.  It went together incredibly quickly and I really like how it turned out.  I also have my first Cuttlebug cut/emboss in this project.  Enjoy!
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures.

You Are My Sunshine Scrapzville Mini Album Video

What a long title!  As promised here is the video of the mini album.  Don't forget there are a few days left of FREE shipping on the kits.  Don't Miss Out! Hope you Enjoy the video!

"Please Don't Take My Sunshine Away"

Thursday, February 11, 2010
The last layout is the last line of the song, "Please Don't Take My Sunshine Away."
This is the last page of the mini album.  I wanted to keep it very simple and leave a lot of space for a picture.  I had a lot of fun using a song as my inspiration.  The creative juices flow very quickly when there is an outline to follow.  Using a kit also cut down on a lot of my time.  I didn't have to scrounge through all of my stuff to try to find things that went together and matched everything.  It was so much fun to try some new techniques and see them come out so well.  I hope you enjoyed seeing my mini album.  Tomorrow I will post the video of the mini album.

Don't forget, there are only a few more days of FREE shipping for the January Kit.  Don't miss out!

"How Much I Love You"

Wednesday, February 10, 2010
Don't Miss Out!   January Kit of the Month has FREE shipping this week!  I am also offering $5 shipping for international customers.

Today's layout is "How Much I Love You."
I made a pocket page to put all the fun postcards from Pink Paislee in.  Each one I added a little embellishment too.  I really liked the little girl on the notebook paper with the quote "a little love goes a long way."  I thought it worked perfectly with the theme of this layout.

"You'll Never Know Dear"

Tuesday, February 9, 2010
The January Kit still has FREE shipping and there are a few kits left.  Don't miss out!  $5 shipping to international addresses!

"You'll Never Know Dear" is today's layout.  I had a lot of fun making this page.  The Pink Paislee Cupid collection is so pretty.  The January Kit has one double sided page from the collection as well as some die cuts and the postcard sheet.
On a lot of these pages I didn't want to put too many photo mats on because I just thought the paper was so pretty.
I apologize for the flare in this picture.  I also need to apologize because I can't remember who I learned this technique from.  I painted the chipboard tage with gold ink and then embossed about 5 layers of the clear ultra thick embossing powder.  When there was a pool of melted plastic, I inked my stamp with Versamark and put it in the melted powder.  Let cool for about 30 seconds to a minute and you have an interesting deep etching that looks like stamped metal.

"When Skies Are Gray"

Monday, February 8, 2010
Today the line is "When Skies Are Gray."  This mini album is the first project I have done where I had a variety of embossing powders at my disposal.  I used white embossing powder to cover the 7gypsies Naked Tags.
The right page is a pocket page with tags.  I used Distress Stickles to outline the Pink Paislee postcard.

Don't forget the January Kit, which I used for the mini, has FREE shipping this week.  I am also offering $5 shipping internationally.  Don't miss out!

Some house keeping, Tanya you will have until Wednesday, February 10th to geet me your information or I will have to draw another name.  Hope to hear from you.  You can email me here.

"You Make Me Happy"

Sunday, February 7, 2010
And the next line is . . . "You make me happy."  I really like the way this page turned out.
The little smiley face is made out of one of the cupcake wrappers and the face is a Peachy Keen stamp.  (Yay I finally bought them) And I embossed it in black.  I used the little glittery puffy heart.  Making the silver swirl is really cool.  There are rub-ons in the kit that after adhering it to the page the front is sticky.  Then you rub a thin silve foil (also included in the kit) and the foil sticks to it.  I like how simple but pretty the page ended up.

This week the January kit is $25 with FREE shipping.  Don't miss out!

"My Only Sunshine"

Saturday, February 6, 2010
This winner of the free kit is . . .

Tanya
Please email me your information and I will ship it out as soon as possible.

You guessed it, the song that inspired me was "You Are My Sunshine."  I thought the paper worked perfectly with this song.  Each page of the album is a line from the song.  Today is "my only sunshine"
This page has a pocket with two tags.  The "xoxo" is embossed.  The scalloped square is included in the kit.
Everything used in this mini is included in the January Kit.  I still have a few for sale.  The kit is $25 and this week ther is FREE shipping!  Don't miss out!

Sneek Peek of Scrapzville Mini Swap and Last Chance for Blog Candy

Friday, February 5, 2010
I get to be the first transatlantic member of the Scrapzville Mini Swap this month.  This month the challenge is to use a love song to inspire your mini.  I bet you can't guess what my song is.  My partner is Ann for Ireland and I hope she likes it!  I got on a roll tonight and just worked my way through it.  I used my January kit of the month.  I did add a couple of chipboard pages that are not in the kit in order to have enough pages for the swap.  I still have a couple of kits left.  There's a link in the top right hand side or here.  Also there is a few more hours to enter to win a free kit.  Here is a sneek at the cover of the mini album.  This week I will show a page a day and there will be a video at the end of the week.  Enjoy and I love to hear your comments.

TWS January Swap Album Finished!

Sunday, January 31, 2010
Don't forget about the Kit of the Month giveaway.  You have until midnight (EST) on Friday to leave comments and the winner will be drawn Saturday, February 6th.

I finished my very first mini album and I am so excited!  I rushed right over to the post office after making the video completely, by passing showing the album to my roommate, only to find out the post office was already closed.  Sadly, the album will not be sent out until February 1st.  (I was so excited I finished it before the end of the month)  But things happen.  Here is the video of the album, sorry about the glare, it was actually sunny for part of the day today (who knew the sun comes out in Rochester).  Enjoy!

March and April Layouts for January Mini Swap

Wednesday, January 27, 2010
I am so excited!  I have two more layouts and the cover of my mini album for Trade Wind Scrappers.  I just emailed Elodie to ask her for her address since we had not exchanged them earlier.  This is my first swap and I am going to mail it out before the end of the month.  I am also really excited about February's swap.  The theme is "One True Love."  I have a ton of valentine stuff so I can't wait to start putting stuff together.  This will most likely be my last post before my video post of the completed mini album.  I really enjoyed doing these layouts, they just kind of fell into place.  Don't you just love that?  Enjoy!

I really like how this page came out.  The white mat was supposed to stay plain as a large photo mat, but I had rubons that just matched so well, I couldn't pass it up.

The frame is on foam tape and has an acetate window, perfect for a cute little picture.

The card on the right is meant to be a mat.  It matched the page so I thought she could just cover up the "Sweet Stuff" part and it would work really well as a large mat.

Sorry this wasn't posted sooner, but Youtube had it's own agenda.  Thanks for watching!

May Layout for January TWS Mini Swap

Tuesday, January 26, 2010
This page just fell together.  It is so nice when everything you pick out of your stash just works perfectly together.  The "May" is done with Tim Holtz grunge board alphas.  I used gold ink to color and embossed with clear embossing powder.  This was my first project ever with embossing.  I just bought my heat tool on Friday.  Enjoy!

July Layout for January Swap Mini

Here is the July layout for my TWS mini swap.  I wanted to keep this layout very simple so there's lots of room for my partner to play.  My absolute goal is to have this done and in the mail January 31st!  So I used gold glitter Thickers I found at Tuesday Morning for $0.79, awesome huh?  The purple page was punched with a spiral punch I got for Christmas.  Journaling lines are embossed in clear embossing powder and July was done in Martha Stewart Polka Dot Alphas.  Enjoy!

June Layout for January Mini Swap

Monday, January 25, 2010
This layout was inspired by Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog.  It was a recipe challenge which included:
  • 2 patterned papers
  • 2 colors of cardstock
  • 2 ribbons
  • 2 types of sparkle (glimmer spray, glitter, blinged out embellishments, etc)
  • 2 buttons

I used another one of the fortune teller papers.  The rubons are Fancy Pants.  There are three buttons, but I didn't that would be a such a big deal.  I wanted to make sure I left room for a large picture on this page since many of the other pages only have room for very small ones.

December Page of TWS January Mini Swap

Thursday, January 21, 2010
Okay, you didn't miss the other months I just got a spark of inspiration so I decided to do December today.  I added a short video of the movement on the page.  I did scraplift this idea from youtube, but it was a while ago so I don't remember who I got it from.

It is a very non-traditional Christmas/winter page.  I hope she likes it.

Sorry for the poor quality.

February Page of January Mini (Confusing Yet)

Wednesday, January 20, 2010
Today I finished the February layout for my TWS January Mini Swap.  I used Fancy Pants rub-ons for the first time.  They are so pretty, but really hard to use.  I had to use my bonefolder in order to get it to stick.  Enjoy!

The glitter is Distress Stickles and is not dry so it'll look a little different when it's done.

The frame is a diecut from the same kit as the paper.  I put acitate in the window and popped it up on pop-dots leaving one side open.

The part that opens was from a sheet that looked like four of those fortune teller things you make in middle school.  The flourish is the Fancy Pants rub-on.  I cut the heart from the Designer's Calendar cartridge and used my crop-a-dile for the eyelet.

Some more rub-ons and a pretty crochetted ribbon.
